Another romancatholicwomenpriests ordination will occur in Victoria on May 29. Monica Kilburn Smith of Calgary and James Lauder of Victoria will be ordained to the priesthood.This is the third public ordination for Canadians seeking ordination in this inclusive model of ordained ministry that asks for equality between women and men in the RC Church.The first such ordination took place on the St. Lawrence River in 2005 with the ordination of Michele Birch-Conery. Then in May 2007, Marie Bouclin of Sudbury Ontario was ordained to the priesthood. Monica and Jim were ordained deacons at that ordination at Westhill United Church in Toronto. Bishop Patricia Fresen of South Africa and Germany will again be the ordaining bishop. The ordination will take place at St. Aidan's United Church in Victoria at 2 p.m. The purpose of these ordinations is to begin ordaining women as we stand in prophetic witnessing against an junjust law. But it is also to continue a work begun in unfolding an inclusive model of ordained ministry where equality and the acceptance of differences is the norm. At present we serve those who seek us from a sense of spiritual alienation and who find in our inclusivity a sense of renewed hope.For invitations see below.

Grand Master Chang's Private Kung Fu & Tai Chi
Grandmaster Stephen Chang started his training in Shaolin 10 Animals Style at the age of 5, and later ventured to Hong Kong in 1954. There, he furthered his development of the Shaolin style, as well as occasionally trained (and played) until the early 60's alongside his neighborhood friend who later became a martial arts legend BRUCE LEE. ~~ Grandmaster Chang personally and selectively admits new students as the 7th generation for private and personal studies in his own ground floor studio. Students can join existing meeting times or arrange for private attention. Students can also sign up for a few months, a year, or even as lifetime disciples, learning kung fu for defense, physical exercise, mental strength, focus and concentration, reduction of stress, as well as to feel younger and live longer. Included in the classes is not only form and technique, but also history, philosophy, culture, and values of an ancient culture. He also teaches Qi-gong and traditional Chinese medicine, especially to the higher level students.
